How Fraudsters Used Fake Police tricks to Steal Gold
A 69-year-old man from Kyoto, Japan was scammed out of $688,000 (approximately Rs 6 crore) in gold bars by fraudsters. The scam began with a deceptive call from a supposed mobile company, leading him to a fake police number. The scammers, posing as officers, fabricated an arrest warrant for financial fraud and demanded his assets as proof of innocence. They later instructed him to leave gold bars and cash at his door, which were stolen. This case follows a similar scam targeting an elderly woman in Kyoto.
