Enthusiastic Voter Turnout Marks 2nd Phase of Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Elections

Long queues and voter enthusiasm highlight the second phase of Jammu and Kashmir’s assembly elections as 2.5 million voters participate.

In the ongoing 2024 Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections, 10.22% voter turnout was recorded by 9 am. Over 2.5 million voters will decide the fate of 239 candidates across 26 seats. Long queues were seen in polling stations like Ganderbal, showcasing excitement after a decade-long gap in elections. Meanwhile, Omar Abdullah criticized the government’s invitation to foreign diplomats, expressing concerns over restricted foreign media coverage.
