Authorities Warn Residents to Stay Cautious After Fireworks Cause Scare

A section of West N.C. 152 in Rowan County was closed after small explosions in mailboxes which were linked to manufactured fireworks. No injuries were reported, but authorities are investigating about the incident. Residents within a two to three-mile radius are requested to be cautious when checking mailboxes and trash cans. If you find any suspicious item, do not touch them—call 911 immediately. The U.S. Postal Service is assisting in the investigation.
