Maldives President Seeks Financial Aid: Strengthening Ties with India
Ahead of his bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Maldives President Mohamed Muizzu emphasized the need for financial support, acknowledging India as one of his country’s biggest development partners. Despite past tensions over the ‘India Out’ campaign during Muizzu’s election, he is now looking to enhance bilateral ties. During his five-day visit to India, Muizzu will also explore Agra, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar appreciated the President’s commitment to strengthening relations, confident that the talks will bring a positive shift in diplomatic ties.
