The controversy stems from claims that the film misrepresents the Sikh community and distorts historical facts, particularly regarding the portrayal of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale.
Sikh groups, including the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee and the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, have sent legal notices and urged the Central Board of Film Certification to ban the film. The situation has escalated with protests, threats, and growing demands for the film’s release to be blocked.
