First Indian Foreign Minister in a Decade to Attend SCO Meeting

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar is set to make a historic visit to Pakistan for the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) heads of government meeting on October 15-16. This marks the first visit by an Indian foreign minister to Pakistan in nearly ten years. Jaishankar may also attend a welcome dinner hosted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, highlighting a rare moment of diplomatic engagement. Despite the significance of this visit, Jaishankar clarified that he is not there to discuss India-Pakistan relations but to fulfill his role as a member of the SCO.
