GCSE Results Show Slight Drop in Top Grades, Still Higher Than Pre-Pandemic

This year’s GCSE results reveal a minor dip in top grades, with 21.8% achieving at least a 7 or A grade, down from 22% in 2023 but up from 20.8% in 2019. The pass rate also fell slightly to 67.6%, yet remains above pre-pandemic levels. The Joint Council for Qualifications reports a record 6.5 million results issued.
