District Magistrate Savin Bansal Takes Action Against Price Gouging
Dehradun’s District Magistrate, Savin Bansal, conducted a surprise inspection of liquor shops posing as a customer, uncovering overpricing issues. On Wednesday night, Bansal visited shops on Old Mussoorie and Rajpur Roads, where he found a shop charging Rs 680 for a bottle priced at Rs 660. The shop faced a Rs 50,000 fine for this infraction. Bansal also identified other violations, including improper rate lists and missing ID cards for employees. Known for his stringent measures, Bansal previously inspected a local hospital and addressed traffic issues in the city.
