Chicago Remembers 9/11: Ceremonies Mark 23 Years Since the Attacks

Tributes Across the City Honor Lives Lost

Chicago is observing the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks with a series of memorial events. The Chicago Fire Department will hold a moment of silence at 7:46 a.m. CT. In the western suburbs, St. Charles Fire Department will host a remembrance ceremony featuring a moment of silence, wreath laying, and a 21-gun salute at 7:30 a.m. Naperville will honor fallen heroes, including local Commander Dan Shanower, with a remembrance event at 6 p.m. at the Shanower Memorial. These events reflect the city’s commitment to remembering and honoring the lives lost.
